Environmental Services Team
Our young unitary authority needs a talented waste project officer to play a key role in the procurement of our new waste treatment facilities.
The role
You will be involved in the development of not only a long-term solution for diverting waste from landfill, (such as a residual waste treatment facility or a long-term merchant-delivered solution), but also a second householders’ waste and recycling centre.
You will be in the centre of it as you play an important part in the technical aspects of procurement, contribute to the implementation of projects, and enable a thorough evaluation of the Council’s waste requirements.
The requirements
Full of passion and drive, you will bring
- A degree or equivalent in waste management, environmental management, planning or similar
- Detailed technical knowledge of waste recovery, treatment, and disposal technologies will also be vital
- An up-to-the-minute understanding of waste policy and legislation
- Waste procurement experience.
For an informal discussion please contact Paul Pace, Head of Environment on 01234 718275.
