We’re looking to you for information.
The Highways Agency is here to help millions of road users get where they want to go safely and reliably. We are responsible for operating, maintaining and improving the strategic road network in England. Our Information Directorate collects data to manage road networks and provide news and updates direct to road users. The key objective of this directorate is to provide useful information, more efficiently and effectively to more people. By using existing and emerging technologies we will influence travel patterns and reduce congestion on the roads of England.
Responsible for the delivery of the Agency’s VMS Action Plan, you will provide influential leadership and direction to the large number of professionals involved across the Agency. Your leadership skills will also see you taking responsibility for providing guidance and supporting policy on Variable Message signing, use and storage of CCTV images and a wide range of traffic information projects, such as our DAB Traffic Information Radio Service.
A confident and influential leader, you will need to be an excellent people, project and programme manager, as well as having sound evidence-based problem solving skills. You should be able to demonstrate effectively delivering within a policy environment, plus evidence of working successfully to influence stakeholders and colleagues. You will need to share our belief in continuous learning and improvement and have the ability to deliver in pressurised situations.
Are you ready to help us collect, use and share trusted traffic information using the very latest technology? If you are, you will enjoy great benefits – excellent work/life balance, 30 days’ holiday, 10.5 public holidays, flexi-time and a generous pension scheme.
