Job Details

The Traffic and Transportation Service is responsible for a wide range of high profile services that affect the day to day lives of residents, the operation of businesses and the movement of people within and through the area. We have a number of opportunities in our Traffic, Road Safety and Parking Team which are critical if we are to deliver our ambitious programme, which includes: * Implementing 20 MPH zones around all schools * Increasing the number of cycle routes * Making our roads safer for all users, using a combination of engineering and education, training and publicity initiatives * Making travel on main traffic routes more reliable * Improving on-street parking and loading facilities

For this role we are looking for someone to support engineers in the Traffic, Road Safety & Parking Team with the delivery of a wide range of schemes by undertaking various technical tasks, including analysing traffic and collision data, preparing and analysing consultation material, preparing technical drawings and dealing with correspondence. You will need to have an aptitude for analysing and presenting a wide range of technical information; using AutoCAD or similar computer aided design tools to prepare technical drawings; and some understanding of the procedures, guidelines and legislation relevant to traffic schemes.
